George E. Lommel Park is a five acre neighborhood park which features a picnic shelter and picnic tables, a playground with equipment designated for ages 2-5 and 5-12 years of age, and an open grassy area for soccer or softball. George E. Lommel was an Assistant Engineer for the City. The park was originally acquired from the Purdue Research Foundation during their development of Bar Barry Heights subdivision. It is located between Essex and Wilshire Streets.
