A.H. Ismail Center for Preventive and Lifestyle Medicine
-
The A.H. Ismail Center for Preventive and Lifestyle Medicine is a collaborative effort between the Departments of Health and Kinesiology and Nutrition Science at Purdue University. It was opened in April 1999 but has its roots in the 1960’s with the inception of the Adult Fitness Program. Now, designed to serve the Greater Lafayette and West Lafayette communities, the center provides a wellness facility with resources to help you achieve and maintain a maximal degree of health. Through a relaxed exercise environment and modern, state-of-the-art equipment, you’ll be able to increase your physical activity and exercise participation. The Ismail Center also serves as a centralized hub for multidisciplinary research where faculty and students can tackle challenges related to health, exercise and nutrition. There are opportunities for members to participate in fitness assessments, personal training, and free health and wellness clinics.
The fitness center is open to anyone. Daily passes are also available. Various insurance plans (Silver Sneakers and Renew Active) accepted here.
