Sculpture Garden Tours:

Tours will occur every first Saturday at 10am and every third Tuesday at 6pm. This schedule starts in May and runs through October.

Description: Learn about the amazing artwork and beautiful native plants of the Haan Museum’s Sculpture Garden!  Tours will be led by a docent who will give an in-depth view of our unique outdoor collection.

Located just behind the mansion, this 0.2 mile wheelchair accessible path features over 25 sculptures by Indiana artists.  A broad and diverse range of works are featured along the path such as figural bronzes, metal sculptures, works in clay, carved Serpentine stone pieces, and glass platters too.  Carved stone African animals are also interspersed throughout the garden to provide a fun interactive safari adventure for all ages.

Tours of the garden have limited spots available.  Reservations are required.  You may register up to 24 hours in advance of the scheduled tour. Each tour is uniquely different, but all will include the basic information about the sculptures and native plants.

Tuesday on the Trail:

Tours will occur every fourth Tuesday at 6pm. This schedule starts in May and runs through October.

Description: Get a closer look at nature as a guide leads you on an educational walk along our Nature Trail. The Haan Museum rests on five acres near downtown Lafayette, which includes a three-acre woods behind the mansion. The nature trail starts at the edge of the woods and winds down to the bottom of the property at Valley Street before returning to the top by another route. Thirty different species of trees native to Indiana are identified with educational signs. Other signs are written about non-native and invasive species, fruits of different trees, and other subjects. The loop trail is about a mile long and feels very much like a wilderness experience in the middle of town.

Tuesday on the Trail walks have limited spots available. Reservations are required. You may register up to 24 hours in advance of the scheduled tour.
