Students will spend the week exploring the amazing, fascinating and fun world of writing. Each student will learn about a variety of forms and writing techniques and will then apply these to develop his/her story idea during each day of camp. In addition to writing, students will also learn the best methods for illustrating their story whether it be a riveting scene or the cover illustration for their book. Students will work with Ms. Doster and go through the design process from initial brainstorming sketches to a completed painting with the title and their selected font settled into place. Through practicing the steps used by professional writers and illustrators, participants will create the final rendition of their illustration as a painting and their stories will be included in an electronic anthology which will include all class members’ work.
