"WEDNESDAYS in the WILD" -- Water Quality 101: Assessing Our Local Waterways

200 Battleground Avenue, Battle Ground, IN 47920
Open Map
Does a quick glance at a river or stream tell us all there is to know about its water quality? Naturalist Mary Cutler will take participants into a local stream to take a snapshot of its health, utilizing the protocols taught in the Hoosier Riverwatch Volunteer Water Quality Monitoring Program. Learn how to use habitat assessment, chemical analysis and biological monitoring to assess local waterways.
NOTE: Bring boots or wear old shoes that can get wet, as we will be wading in Burnett’s Creek.
**Limited to 20 participants. Registration required by noon August 9, call 765-567-2993 or email mcutler@tippecanoe.in.gov (responding on Facebook does not reserve your spot). Facial coverings may be required at any point in the program when social distancing cannot be observed, so please ensure you have one with you.**
Program content is designed for adults, but school-aged children may attend and enjoy depending on their attention span and interest. For more information, call Tippecanoe County Naturalist Mary Cutler at 765-567-2993
