Riverfest is an annual event that brings the community together and celebrates the living Wabash River with conservation exhibits, games, activities, canoe races, a 5K, and a beer garden at the Plaza. Riverfest annually draws around 5,000 participants and specifically teaches children about our most prized natural resource here in Greater Lafayette - the Wabash River - as it provides recreational focus, aesthetic beauty, and is a vital component of our economy. Wabash Riverfest will be in two locations: Tapawingo Park from 9AM-4PM and Riehle Plaza from 12-6PM. We will start the fun at 8 AM with our Water Drop 5k Run/Walk & the Lafayette Farmer's Market specially located around the fountain and on the Pedestrian Bridge. Festivities in Tapawingo Park & on the Pedestrian bridge will open at 9AM. Activities, live music, educational booths, and a beer garden will open at Riehle Plaza at Noon. But, you can get your beer early if you come to Brew-ga (yoga class + beer) at Riehle Plaza at 11AM. Some of the new additions include: Beer Garden featuring Peoples Brewing Company and Tick Tock TavernCharcoal River Drawing Classes (10 AM, 12PM, & 2PM)Sand Volleyball Tournament A Bigger Zipline Extra fitness classes (9AM, 10AM, 11AM) Live Screen Printing and Tote Bag Crafting, Instrument Petting Zoo Adult Sized Tricycles, Live Music featuring SAMI, the Green Room Rockers, Clave Caribe, CirqAfrique, and the Flying Toasters, and much more. Riverfest is a free event for the community so check out the schedule and other activities, such as: face painting, henna artist, river float trip, fishing derby, rock climbing wall, and more on our website!
