A native of Bellingham, Washington now based in Bloomington, Indiana, Eli Schille-Hudson began his musical studies at the age of nine, and has since developed his skills as a soloist, chamber, and ensemble performer on classical, steel string, and electric guitar.

He completed degrees in classical guitar at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where as an undergraduate he studied as a recipient of the prestigious Barbara and David Jacobs Scholarship, and where he taught as an associate instructor throughout his master’s degree. At IU, he studied under his principal teacher, Maestro Ernesto Bitetti and participated in numerous masterclasses with such world renowned artists as Jorge Caballero, Zoran Dukic, Goran Krivokapić, Marcin Dylla, Nigel North, and Tilman Hoppstock.

Recent highlights as a recitalist include a duo performance with bassist DaXun Zhang at the International Society of Bassists 2019 Convention, a solo recital on the Great Spaces Concert Series at Grace Cathedral in Topeka, Kansas, and a solo recital for the Bellingham Festival of Music's 7th annual ""Welcome Home"" concert series. Eli placed 2nd in the Undergraduate Instrumental category at the 2016 Indianapolis Matinee Musicale competition, and 4th at the 2015 University of Louisville Guitar Competition.

Eli plays on a 2013 Dake Traphagen guitar, handmade in his hometown.
