Due to the increasing safety concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic and the University’s response to limit in-person classes after Thanksgiving, PMO will not be able to produce the traditional Christmas Show format that hundreds of thousands of audience members have come to know and love over the past 87 years.
However, the PMO students and staff are hard at work creating an alternative virtual performance so that our students still have the opportunity to perform for you this holiday season. This year’s show will be quite a departure from our usual Broadway-style performance, but one that we hope you enjoy all the same.
We are proud to offer this year’s virtual performance, which for now we are aptly titling “A Different Kind of Christmas”, on Saturday, December 19, 2020. Though the title might change as the production unfolds, we hope that you’ll be able to join us with a celebratory spirit of embracing new traditions and trying new things!
In this first-ever virtual production, viewers can expect to enjoy performances by PMO ensembles: Heart & Soul, Purdue Bells, the Purdue Varsity Glee Club, Purduettes, University Choir, and a special carol sing-along led by members of the All-Campus & Community Chorale.
In light of the challenges that many are facing due to COVID-19, PMO is proud to offer this production free of charge. In times like these, we believe it’s important to come together through the healing bonds that music provides. Information about how to enjoy this “Different Kind of Christmas” will be made available on our PMO website and social media accounts in the month of December.
