A tour of spooky and authentic Lafayette history is making its return. From 2003 – 2011, the Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette has presented the Tour of Terror, an evening walking tour of historic sites throughout the downtown area. Poised now to make a comeback, in partnership with the Wabash Valley Trust for Historic Preservation, performers will be reenacting historical events such as the strange but true tale of James Moon and his infamous guillotine constructed on-site at the Lahr Hotel; a famous gangster-era shootout in the Courthouse Square; and a rare look inside the site of a gruesome local beheading. The best part of the event is that it’s a walking tour of the “Old Town” of downtown Lafayette, Indiana. Performances will occur in the actual spots where history occurred, with the audience traveling to find performers and their reenactments. This year’s Tour of Terror will be presented on October 27th and 28th from 6 – 9 pm, with other exciting events and fun happening at the Civic Theatre, such as Terrifying Historical Trivia with Sean Lutes, mysterious and magical products from Lafayette's own "Sigil" meta-physical store, and connect with the powerful medium from Intuitive Encounters. Come for the Tour- but stay for the TERROR!
