A dedication ceremony for an Indiana Historical Bureau Marker honoring author, poet, and artist Evaleen Stein (1863-1923) will take place at her former home she named the "Little House of Dreams" at 708 Hitt Street in Lafayette. The public is invited to the unveiling featuring author Angie Klink who has written and presented about Stein's life. Klink applied for the historic marker in 2022. She received a grant from the William G. Pomeroy Foundation to help fund the creation of the plaque. Donations came from members of Greater Lafayette's Parlor Club and community members. Local and state dignitaries, a children's choir, and others will make presentations. A dinner at the Lafayette Country Club will follow at 6:30 featuring an exhibit of Stein's art from the private collection of Winter Ball Bottum, daughter of the late Evelyn Ball of Historic Ninth Street Hill. Reservations and dinner purchase required.
