Lafayette-West Lafayette Weekend Update! Looking for a fun Indiana weekend getaway? Or do you live in this area and are looking for entertainment close by? Check out the endless possibilities for fun events happening this upcoming weekend in or near Lafayette-West Lafayette, Indiana.
On Saturday, May 18th, you can join in on the special Wolf Park After Hours event. From 7:30pm-11pm, Wolf Park invites you to experience the park and beautiful animals in the night-time. Once a month, Wolf Park is open late after Howl Night so visitors can see the park after the sun sinks low. Visitors can walk the tour trail, listen to the wolves howl, and see the animals at a time of day they are frequently active. Watch out for fireflies and shooting stars! Listen to the frogs and insects sing and maybe spot a bat or other nightlife. Then, stop by the campfire, roast a marshmallow and chat with the staff. For more information, please visit their website.
Another fun activity on Saturday night is a performance by the Whiskeybelles at Nine Irish Brothers in Lafayette! The Whiskeybelles are an exciting up-and-coming roots/country/folk/Americana trio of talented ladies from the Milwaukee music scene. Born of Gin Halls and Juke Joints – Hank Williams passion, Carter family harmonies, with a little Hee Haw mixed in for good measure. The WhiskeyBelles are widely known for captivating shows featuring their own take on classic and obscure vintage-country, Americana, folk-revival and roots-country tunes, with their witty originals sprinkled in. They’ve been compared with the Pistol Annies, Dixie Chicks and The Trio (Dolly Parton, Emmy Lou Harris & Linda Ronstadt). The WhiskeyBelles have personalities as big as the Texan skyline - they have a great time on stage, and love to share the fun with their audience. Check out the Nine Irish Brothers website for details.
