940px_PopovichWeekend Update! Theater for the whole family! Looking for a fun Indiana weekend getaway? Or do you live in this area and are looking for entertainment close by? Check out the endless possibilities for fun events happening this upcoming weekend in Lafayette-West Lafayette, Indiana. This whole weekend, February 28 through March 2, the Greater Lafayette Civic Theatre presents "Lost in Yonkers". America’s great comic playwright, Neil Simon, sets this memory play in 1942 Yonkers. Bella is 35-years-old, mentally challenged and living at home with her mother, the stern Grandma Kurnitz. As the play opens, near do-well son, Eddie, deposits his two young sons on the old lady's doorstep.  He is financially strapped and taking to the road as a salesman.  The boys are left to contend with Grandma, with Bella and her secret romance, and with Louie, her brother, a small-time hoodlum in a strange new world called Yonkers. Enjoy this play full of laughter and fun! Looking for more theatrical entertainment this weekend? In West Lafayette at Purdue University on March 2, do not miss the Popovich Comedy Pet Theater! This world famous theater is a family-oriented blend of Gregory Popovich’s unique comedy, European-style clowns, and the extraordinary talents of his performing pets. Rescued from animal shelters, each of the show’s 15 cats and 10 dogs once were strays. Now, they love to show off onstage—by performing a variety of stunts and skits! Bring the whole family, and be delighted by the extravaganza of amazing juggling and balancing acts, and, of course, very talented performing pets.
