Theatre, Music & Dance Weekend Update! Looking for a fun Indiana weekend getaway? Or do you live in this area and are looking for entertainment close by? Check out the endless possibilities for fun events happening this upcoming weekend in or near Lafayette-West Lafayette, Indiana. The World Famous  Glenn Miller Orchestra has performed in all 50 United States, as well as throughout Europe, Japan, Australia, Iceland, New Zealand, Guam, the Philippines, South and Central America. They will be here in Lafayette on Saturday, April 23 performing with our very own Purdue Jazz Band at the Long Center for the Performing Arts! The Glenn Miller Orchestra, a famous swing band, has made a big impact right before and during the war and it had more hit records in one year than anybody in the history of the recording industry. In fact, its recording of Chattanooga Choo-Choo earned the first Gold Record ever awarded to a performing artist. At what length would you go to save the one you love? This is the question Orpheus must answer in Sarah Ruhls adaptation on the ancient myth of Eurydice. Love and grief, life and death these timeless themes are packed in the devastatingly lovely story of sacrifice and human connection. A quirky, contemporary reworking of a much meditated upon story, Eurydice is equal parts modernist poetry, surrealistic art, and plenty of comedy to break the tension in this beautiful love story. Do not miss this opportunity to watch love unfold this weekend at the Nancy T. Hansen Theatre Yue-Kong Pao Hall of Visual and Performing Arts on April 21-23.
