More Bicentennial celebrations take place this Saturday, November 12 and Sunday, November 13, during the Tippecanoe and Indiana Too- a Bicentennial of Indiana Statehood event. The 205th Anniversary of the Battle of Tippecanoe, along with the Bicentennial of the State of Indiana, will be commemorated at the Tippecanoe Battlefield in Battle Ground. In recognition of the national prominence of the Battle of Tippecanoe in the history of the fledgling United States State of Indiana, recreated period military units and historical re-enactors will be camped on the actual battlefield site, in the same locations that their predecessors participated in the battle over two hundred years ago. Other period re-enactors, including civilians and craftspeople, will be camped on the Tippecanoe Battlefield park grounds. This event is free and open to the public.
