On Friday, October 7, Lewington & Downie hit Nine Irish Brothers- Lafayette with their musical masterpieces. After a decade touring through the US and Europe with Jubilee Riots and Enter the Haggis, Trevor Lewington and Craig Downie are hitting the road as a duo with a sound that’s been described as “Mumford and Sons meets Def Leppard.” Lewington stomps on drums while playing guitar and singing and Downie brings an arsenal of instruments to the table, switching between them like a mad scientist. Performances include original songs, re-imagined traditional Irish and Scottish tunes, and unexpected covers.

We can't wait for Saturday, October 8! It is the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra's Opening Night at the Long Center for the Performing Arts. The evening offers a lush selection of works depicting trials and triumphs in the realms of fantasy. Kidnapped princessses and brave knights, forbidden love tangled in class warfare, and symphonic explorations of fate all come together in a dramatic night of orchestral storytelling.
