This weekend, commemorate the vibrant vibes of the 1940's. Carnahan Hall Presents: The Big Swing Band on November 2nd. The event begins at 7:30pm, doors opening at 6:30pm! Do not miss out on this evening of excitement. This is a night of 1940's swing music and dancing, along with some ballroom dances too! The Big Swing Band is gaining popularity in Indiana with its sound of classic swing music which captivated the nation from the 1930’s through the 1960’s. The players are professionals and highly skilled performers from various backgrounds. They play mostly standards from yesteryear recorded by such legends as Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin and Nat King Cole, with some more modern favorites by such artists as Billy Joel, Brian Setzer and the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies. The band also sports its own arsenal of original arrangements as well as a few original tunes.

Come join the experts at The Farm at Prophetstown State Park this Sunday, November 4th. Enjoy a talk about starting your heirloom orchard. Learn about heritage apple varieties and check out the plans for an heirloom orchard at The Farm. Admission to the Farm and this event is free with park admission. It runs from 1pm to 2pm. If you love nature or are interested in learning more about heirloom orchards, this is the place for you this weekend!
