Holiday shopping is right around the corner and there is a new boutique in town has the locals excited about all the fun, unique items. The Farmer's Wife and Co. opened this past summer and is a hot spot for awesome gift ideas. Clothing, candles, decor, and more await this holiday season.
The story behind the store:
This new store front has a fun story to tell. Alivia Roberts and Reagan Geswein are the co-owners of The Farmer’s Wife & Co. who were introduced to each other by their husband and boyfriend. Later, while attending a wedding together, they got to talking about their different plans, and it was brought to their attention both of them wanted to start a boutique. They became fast friends and business partners; the wedding was at the beginning of September and by Sept. 25, they were posting about the start of their company. Originally started as an online-only operation in September 2017, they opened a brick and mortar location in Lafayette in August 2019.
Even with its unique name, it has a selection of clothes for everyone, whether it’s a girls night out or another day around town. It has a wide range of merchandise: women’s clothes (bonus: there is a "curvy" section",) baby clothes and shoes, home decor, and accessories. One of a kind finds are around every nook and corner.
The home decor section has a wide selection of candles and signs. The signs come in a variety of sizes and sayings. As a local boutique, The Farmer’s Wife & Co. tries to promote local products. For example, they have a selection of tumblers made by one of their employees that feature unique designs such as pictures of cows or popular phrases.
