Gosh diggity dang it I love pizza. We find ourselves on this gloomy Friday way out in the land of the uncommon, Pizza Uncommon, even. I live for all things strange and unusual, but for today, uncommon will have to do!

We gluttonous gangsters are obviously each getting our own pies, as we can’t properly review the full scale of a place if we don’t sample every single thing.

Our group Vegan had sooooo many options to choose from here. The entire back of the menu is vegan! Come all ye vegans, this is the place for you.

Pizza Uncommon

Each and every pie features made from scratch dough that ferments for 100 hours. These folks are endurance athletes of their trade. You can easily customize your creation toward veganism or gluten free living, which is super inclusive and appreciated for this gaggle of weirdos.

Linda got the crab Rangoon pizza pie. I was super excited that she did because I’ve actually had this one, but had an itch to try something new. Olive oil, mozz, crab, scallions, wonton strips, and sweet and sour sauce. Freaking yay, dude. Heck yes.

Kay stole my heart with the Elote pie. If you’re patronizing an establishment most notable for being uncommon, you really owe it to the masses to step off the path of normalcy. What’s weirder than a street corn pizza? This gorgeous creation has olive oil, mozz, GOAT CHEESE (yes, I shouted that), fire roasted corn, tajin, cotija, chipotle mayo, cilantro, and fresh lime. Wow wow wow. Whoa whoa whoa. That sucker may have been my personal fave.

Tetia got the Nashville hot honey chicken. This thing got my heart a fluttering more than anything else on the menu, there has never been a better combination than Nashville hot chicken, honey, and pickles. Fight me. Actually, you’ll have to fight Tetia because she is the owner of that pie, and that thing is good.

Margy went with the vegan Thai chicken wings. They’re made from seitan, aren’t on the menu in the restaurant, but are surprisingly delicious! Closer in nature to a boneless wing, I think we were all seriously surprised by these!

Ken opted for the Thai chicken for all of us, what a hero! He ordered it as is, for the sake of balance. He got all things good here. It comes with Thai chile sauce, roasted chicken, pineapple, onion, green peppers, and sesame seeds. After we dropped a slice on the floor, Tetia topped it with some ginger brew for added disaster. So we picked at the bones of the first one while the darling server remade it for him!

In perhaps my mildest moment thus far, I opted for the hot honey pepperoni. Sometimes simplicity is necessary, and in this case I felt we needed balance at this feastivus. I’ve been on a hot honey kick for a while now, and this is an excellent way to kick a pepperoni pie up a notch or two. I’m honestly on the fence about the winner because this one gives the Elote a run for its money!

Jo ordered the garden pizza on a gluten free crust. This girl loves her veggies. Or maybe she’s trying to shame the rest of us? We may never know! Her gluten free crust was adorned with spinach, tomato, mushroom, onions, and green peppers. I’m not mad about it!

It’s worth noting that en route to the counter for ordering purposes, at least half of our gang got sidetracked by the gelato counter. The flavors can only be described as, well, uncommon! Had I known in advance, I could have and would have skipped the pizza all together. I’m obviously glad I didn’t, because it can’t really be fat Friday without overindulgence. To our surprise, our delightful server approached us with a hot tray of FRESH BAKED COOKIES. Are you kidding me? Lord, if I die now I’ll die happy. Pizza Uncommon

You’re really going to need a group to try this place for the first time because you seriously don’t want to miss all of the options. You can’t handle them all alone, but your support system can guide you through this journey!
