It is officially the ‘ber months! September, October, November, and December, in my opinion, are the greatest months of the year. It gets a little chilly, but I love the crispness of the air. It really is a wonderful time, especially when all the seasonal treats return to the menus! For this post, I wanted to shed light on some of the delicious seasonal treats that the Greater Lafayette area has to offer!

Purdue University Student, Maggie Walsh, shares this blog. This blog is part of a series of articles submitted to Visit Lafayette-West Lafayette through cooperation with a 400-level travel writing class at Purdue University.

Fuel Coffee Shop

The first place I went to was Fuel Coffee Shop. I ordered a pumpkin muffin and the “Great Pumpkin” coffee, which is described on their website to taste like pumpkin pie in a cup, and it did! The pumpkin muffin was really lovely as well!

Greyhouse Coffee

The next place I went to was Greyhouse Coffee. I ordered their caramel apple cider. You can get it hot or iced but I got it iced. I really enjoyed this drink because while I’ve had cider before, I’ve never had it with caramel; it was a unique addition!

Silver Dipper

The last place I went to was Silver Dipper. There were so many options to choose from. There was “Snap-O-Lantern,” pumpkin ice cream with gingersnap cookies. Ultimately, I decided to go with the “Witches Brew,” a pumpkin and espresso blend. I would have to say this treat was my favorite. It was wicked good, pun intended 🙂

Bonus: Hammer Donuts

Hammer Donuts is also a great place to go to for fall treats every year. They have apple pie donuts, pumpkin pie donuts, and many Halloween-themed donuts, like a ghost donut!

Overall, I really enjoyed this experience and recommend all of these treats/shops. Make sure to check out the rest of the Home of Purdue Blog to see what else the Greater Lafayette area has to offer!
