- Bride & Groom cutting the cake!
One year ago, two of my family's greatest friends, Aaron and Sherri, hosted a wedding celebration that will stay in my memory forever and is ultimately the best
wedding I have ever attended. Aaron is from Madison, Wisconsin, and Sherri is from Indianapolis, Indiana, and they met while attending
Purdue University five years ago. They made so many wonderful memories at college, that when it came to deciding the location, Purdue was at the top of their list. They met with the staff at the Union, and shared the professionalism, friendliness and confidence they portrayed along with the beauty of the venue assisted in making their final decision. Once the decision was made, they said a great relief hit them, because the Union made the
event planning process a breeze by taking charge of all the little and big details of this special day. They were also living in Saint Louis at the time starting new careers, and having a venue that had a lot of experience hosting large events was a desired requirement!
Their wedding was amazing and truthfully after over 20 weddings my husband and I have attended in the last 4 years, the best! (Possibly even more fabulous than our own! Ha!) The food was absolutely delicious from the assortment of cheese, fruits, and vegetables they served as an appetizer, to juicy, rich pork tenderloin with roasted red potatoes and seasoned green beans as the entree. The sauce over the pork tenderloin was smoky, yet smooth. It was also piping hot! How many times have you been to a wedding and ate rubbery, cold chicken? This meal had nothing rubbery about it!

They were married in the
South Ballroom at the Union which is beautiful. Stained glass windows, dark wood, ceilings that feel like they reach the sky; what could be better? Aaron and Sherri love music, and they hired a band from Indiana to play. My husband literally had to drag me off the large dance floor at the end of the evening!
The ultimate best part of the evening was the service. The
Purdue Memorial Union hires college staff, and I want to share they were not only friendly, but as the saying goes, "on the ball". From the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted, our drinks were always filled throughout the night, and all requests were met immediately. If there is an award for service, I hope their staff gets top honors, because they deserve it. I highly recommend checking out the Purdue Memorial Union for your next event!
