It's back for another great year, the Purdue Jazz Festival. Check out all the fun jazz events taking place this week!
On Thursday, January 19, head to the Long Center for the Performing Arts for the Greater Lafayette Jazz Showcase Concert. Jazz bands from Benton Central High School, Harrison High School, Jefferson High School, McCutcheon High School, and West Lafayette High School will perform. There will also be a performance by the Purdue Jazz Band featuring festival artist-in-residence Tim Coffman, trombone.
The Purdue Jazz Festival takes place on Saturday, January 21. Featuring 98 high school and middle school bands from around the Midwest, this all day event, will have bands performing all over Purdue including the Purdue Memorial Union, Stewart Center, and Pao Hall. From 12-1:30pm, a special concert will take place at Loeb Playhouse. This concert includes the Purdue Jazz Band featuring special guest artists Tim Coffman, Ingrid Jensen, and David Bixler.
