Folie is a “French & New American Fine Dining” restaurant located at 526 Main Street in downtown Lafayette. Looking at the menu, before we went, I was a bit intimidated by some of the items, but we decided to give it a try. We visited for lunch, where the dishes are a bit more traditional and not as exotic but flavor and experience sure didn’t disappoint. The restaurant offers a contemporary feel in a historic area of downtown and has two sides to the restaurant, side for 21 and over that includes a bar and then the regular dining room where guests of all ages are welcome. Corey shared, “The chicken sandwich is a thinly fried chicken breast, covered in Oaxaca cheese and an aioli sauce that complements the natural flavor of the chicken to perfection! It will be sure to guarantee a return visit to the restaurant once you try it!” The Folie Burger was surprising. I wasn’t sure about the onion jam, but it was amazing! Basically, just caramelized onions but it made the burger! The horseradish aioli was a great addition as well and added that extra flavor to make the burger extraordinary. We loved our food but both kept eyeing the “Tacos al Pastor” that kept coming out of the kitchen. I had thought about ordering but just wasn’t sure but so disappointed that I didn’t go for it. I’m going to have to go back. The Tacos were marinated pork, charred pineapple, avocado mousse, cilantro, onion and spicy peanut sauce. We were all too full for dessert, but they all sounded good. The flavor and presentation were amazing with our lunch items, I would be willing to be a bit more adventurous when I return for dinner and try something I’ve never had before. I’m sure it will be amazing and beautifully presented. A fantastic choice for your next date night or business meeting. Service won’t disappoint either. Our server was very attentive and brought us everything in a timely manner, checked in with us appropriately yet gave us space as well. Overall a fantastic experience and I cannot wait to return!
