It's Father's Day weekend and Lafayette-West Lafayette is the place to be if you are looking for a fun Indiana weekend getaway. Check out the endless possibilities for fun events happening this upcoming weekend in Lafayette-West Lafayette, Indiana. Father's Day, Sunday June 15th is Family Day at the Tippecanoe Battlefield Museum and History Store in Battle Ground, Indiana. Visit the Battlefield Museum - admission is free for dads and their children! Shop the history store, explore the battlefield, picnic in the park, hike the Wabash Heritage Trail and visit the Wah-ba-shik-a Nature Center. An interpreter from the Tippecanoe County Historical Association will talk about the Battle of Tippecanoe at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm, meet at the monument, weather permitting. Free lemonade and snacks will be available on the museum porch from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The Tippecanoe Battlefield Museum and History Store are open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Tippecanoe Battlefield Park is open from dawn until dusk. Take a leisurely stroll through the prairie to see which flowers are popping up during the Prairie Wildflower Hike in the afternoon.  Get a close-up look at teeth, skulls, and furs from animals that call Prophetstown State Park home at the "Skins and Skulls" event in the evening. There is more fun on Sunday, Father's Day! Attend the "Monarch Madness" workshop to discover the amazing journey this butterfly takes to reach Indiana. Have you ever visited the Native American village at Prophetstown? Tour the council house, medicine lodge, chief’s cabin, corn crib and hike through the prairie.
