Lafayette-West Lafayette is home to incredible businesses that celebrate and preserve our community’s rich cultural heritage. This month, in honor of Black History Month, we’re spotlighting a thriving Black-owned business that enriches our community. Our goal is to share their story, highlight their impact, and celebrate their success—not just this month, but all year long.

Sunni Morning

Meet Morgan Goldman Murray, the creative behind Sunni Morning. Morgan’s infectious energy leaves you no choice but to be captivated by the story she’s sharing.

Originally from Michigan City, Indiana Morgan and her partner moved to Lafayette where the pair has immersed themselves in all Lafayette has to offer. During our time with Morgan we made a stop at The Eleventh House and the Celery Bog to enjoy the couple’s favorite spots in the community.

Morgan began hand making her hair accessories because the hair accessories available in stores were not suitable for her hair. While curating a product that fit her needs (and others with hair like hers) Morgan added her artistic flair creating cute and customizable hair pieces. Each product is hand touched by Morgan. In addition to hair accessories, Morgan creates art and you can find trendy, funny prints and stickers on her website too. Sunni Morning offers custom orders if you are looking for a Valentine’s or Galentine’s gifts this February!

You can find Sunni Morning at markets like Summer on the Square and Merry on Main Street, on Instagram @sunnimorning or the Sunni Morning Shop (sunnimorning.square.site
