Weekend Update!  Dickens of a Christmas & Christmas Parade!  Looking for a fun Indiana weekend getaway?  Or are you a local looking for entertainment close by?  Check out the endless possibilities for fun and relaxation happening this upcoming weekend in Lafayette-West Lafayette, Indiana. This Saturday, enjoy a day where Downtown Lafayette is transformed into Victorian England during Dickens of a Christmas. Throughout the day, there will be live performances by choirs and entertainers, roving carolers, Holiday Farmers Market, Riverside Skating Rink sessions, artisans in costume demonstrating their craft, carriage rides, and of course, the Dickens and Victorian street characters announced and directed by town criers and a constable or two! Make sure you take advantage of the many "Dickens specials" by downtown restaurants and merchants. In Lafayette and West Lafayette this Sunday enjoy the largest holiday parade in Indiana to start the holiday season off right!  Area bands, local floats, clowns, fire engines, police, postal workers and, of course, Santa are welcomed by the crowds. There are several pre-parade events scheduled Downtown Lafayette throughout the day.  The parade starts at 2:00 p.m. at 10th & Main Street, Lafayette, and ends across the river at Levee Plaza, West Lafayette.
