I am so excited for this upcoming weekend! My husband's best guy friends from college and their wives or girlfriends are coming for the weekend. They are traveling from all over the Midwest to spend the weekend with us and to tailgate and attend the Purdue football game against the Northern Illinois Huskies on Saturday. They will all arrive Friday evening, and to follow tradition, we will all head to Chumley's to eat pub food, catch up on everything new going on in each other's lives, and watch sports.
Chumley's holds a special place in my heart because it was the location where I met all my husband's friends. It was a great place to relax and get to know everyone, and I have come to truly love all his college buddies. Chumley's also has great food! My husband and I go loco over their nachos. We get them loaded and ask for double the amount of the cheese. The only critical part is deciding if we want chili or chicken nachos. Both are fabulous!
Burgers and beers are another part of Chumley's that make it a "hot spot" in Lafayette! With a selection of over 25 burgers, 50 beers on tap and 100 beers bottled, guests have many options to choose from. Our friends like to think of themselves as "beer" aficionados, and they always try diverse beers that personally I have never heard of (but I am a beer novice!). I know if they lived here they would join the Chumley's Pub Passport Club, where visitors can sample 50 different beers from around the world and earn a Beer Club t-shirt and their name behind the bar. They may have actually done this in college. I will have to ask this weekend!
