Weekend Update!  Looking for a fun Indiana weekend getaway?  Or do you live in this area and are looking for entertainment close by?  Check out the endless possibilities for fun and relaxation happening this upcoming weekend in Lafayette-West Lafayette, Indiana.
Football Season is back!  Friday night head to "Boiler Up at the Boiler Bridge Walk" at the John Myers Pedestrian Bridge as loyal fans rally with the team before the Boilermaker home football game on Saturday against Eastern Kentucky. Lead by "special marshals", a Purdue pep band, Purdue Pete, Purdue cheerleaders and the Boilermaker Special; the football team will cross the bridge to the cheers of young and old. Weekly marshals, chosen from local youth groups, will huddle with the team and join the walk across the bridge. Put a face with a name, as the players will be wearing their jerseys for this up close and personal event. As they cross the bridge, players will have special giveaway items from local businesses for fans lining the way. Looking for a relaxed and lovely way to spend a few hours of your day on Saturday, September 1?  Head over to the Morton Community Center for the special event, "Global Fest".  This is a day of celebration as we embrace the many cultures in our community.   It's a small (which kind of makes it nice), friendly street festival with great music, global food samplings and crafts from around the world just waiting to be purchased.  Lafayette-West Lafayette CVB President Jo Wade shares, "Always a great event for a variety of international food and entertainment. Walking through the classrooms full of international products/gifts to be purchased is always a treat."
