Rent the barn, built in 1928 that can seat 250 people as well as fire pits, picnic tables, straw bales, oak barrels, the woods, country store and even hayrides if you’d wish. New modern climate controlled restrooms are also now available with rentals.
Another farm experience would be The Farm at Prophetstown, located within Prophetstown State Park, dedicated to educate, encourage and promote small scale sustainable farming. Weddings up to 300 guests are welcome at The Farm. Most will utilize the green space in front of the barn with a tent and use the barn for dancing. This is a working farm and guests will be able to mingle with the farm animals such as chickens, sheep, hogs, horses and cows. This mansion was built in 1852 by Moses Fowler as a private residence and is one of the finest surviving examples of Gothic Revival Architecture. A terraced patio/stairway leads up from the garden to the mansion’s main patio and makes for a grand entrance or exit and a wonderful location for photos. Patio string lights are available April-October, there is also an operational Italian Patio Fountain and exterior house uplighting that help make photos grand. If utilizing indoor and outdoor space, this venue can host up to 280 guests with a custom layout.
