Accredited by the American Association of Museums. The permanent collection of the museum centers on 19th and 20th century American art with a specific focus on art of Indiana. In addition to selected works from the collection that are on display, two other galleries feature changing exhibitions four times a year. With the focus on education, a variety of studio art classes are offered for both adults and children and docent-led tours are available. The museum gift shop offers works by area artists, including jewelry, ceramics, woodcarvings, glass and paintings. Free to the public, the museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In an effort to expand outside of campus, Purdue Galleries opened a downtown gallery in the historic Perrin Building, which is right across the street from the Tippecanoe County Courthouse fountain, where the gallery gets its name. The Haan Mansion is a private residence with two main floors, encompassing about 9000 square feet, it is open for visitors at pre-scheduled times and for group tours. The grand Classical Revival mansion features a great hall with an open well, a double staircase, interior arches, columns and pilasters and verandas on the first and second floors. An elevator allows guests with mobility problems access to the second floor.
The Haans started collecting historic Indiana art in 1992, and now have the finest and most complete collection ever assembled. Many of the pieces have been borrowed by other Museums in Indiana and Ohio. You can also enjoy an impressive collection of furniture normally found only in the largest museums and mansions. A majority of the large pieces are Renaissance Revival, and date from about 1860 to 1890. The art, furniture and decorative arts and the grand scale of the Mansion create an experience that you won't soon forget.

Inspired Fire is a fully operational studio that offers classes and sports an unusually diverse gallery of art from the truly local to the internationally inspired. Inspired Fired ™ is located in the south end of Lafayette, Indiana. It was started May 2002 and is still owned and operated by Sharon Owens. The gallery is the natural place to pick up unique articles of glass artwork and beautiful paintings from over 20 local artists or even get inspired while taking one of their classes. A selection of jewelry boxes, trivets and key fobs made out of exotic woods and finishes can be found.

Purdue University Galleries offer a variety of art forms and exhibits. Galleries include the Robert L. The building originally opened in 1927 as the Albert A. Wells Memorial Library. However, when the library outgrew the space and opened a new facility in 1989, it became the Wells Community Cultural Center. It is now home to the Tippecanoe Arts Federation (TAF) which acts as an agency to promote many of the area’s cultural organizations and also sponsors the annual Taste of Tippecanoe.
