Academy Park, Founders Park, Memorial Mall

These open green spaces and parks are inviting areas to relax and enjoy a spring day or fall afternoon. On Memorial Mall, founding benefactor John Purdue is buried in front of University Hall, the oldest building on campus. The fountains at Purdue Mall and Founders Park are popular gathering spots to study, socialize and people watch.

The Union is a gathering place for students, staff, faculty and visitors to campus. You’ll find a variety of dining options including quick service, pizza, pretzels, Starbucks, and a full service restaurant to name a few. There’s also bowling, an amusement game room, banking facilities, galleries, lounge area and meeting space.

The Purdue University Horticulture Gardens (0.5 acres) are botanical gardens located on campus. They are open to the public year-round, seven days a week. The gardens display a wide diversity of plants, including nearly 200 species of perennial flowers and foliage plants, and over 300 cultivars of annual flowers and garden vegetables. Collections include peonies, daylilies, hosta, spring-flowering bulbs, and ornamental grasses.
