It is the purpose of the Tippecanoe County Parks and Recreation Board to administer, program and maintain, acquire, and expand large open space parks and recreation facilities for all County citizens.


Bicentennial Nature Area
North side of Sagamore Parkway between Duncan Road and Schuyler Avenue, Lafayette, IN 47904 [map]
196 acre property featuring a large pond (approximately 70 acres), allows for limited bank fishing, small boat fishing (electric trolling motors only), kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and windboards. Life jackets are required when on the water, and swimming is not allowed. Fishing is currently catch and release only. Bicentennial Nature Area is open on a limited basis from the Sagamore Parkway exit ramps only.

Davis Ferry Park

Fairfield Lakes

Fort Ouiatenon

Goose Island
An island in the Wabash River, located 8 miles southwest of Lafayette [map]
7.6 acres set aside as a nature preserve, boat access only, undeveloped and poison ivy proliferates.

Granville Park

14.6 acres. Granville Park is a Wabash Riverfront park adjacent to the Granville Bridge. Located 7 miles outside of Lafayette, off of South River Road in West Lafayette. The park features boat access to the Wabash River.

Heron Island

An island in the Wabash River, just west of Davis Ferry Park — 11 acres set aside as a nature preserve, boat access only, undeveloped and poison ivy proliferates.

Mar Len Park

29 acres; shelter house, picnic areas, hiking, lighted softball diamond, restrooms and access to Wea Creek.

Ross Hills Park

Located approximately 12 miles south of West Lafayette. Ross Hills Park and Ross Camp is a catch and release fishing pond and hiking trails are amenities in the park. Tecumseh Trails Park

23 acres; across from Indiana Veterans’ Home, overlooks the Wabash River, picnic areas, shelter house and walking trails.

Tippecanoe Battlefield Park

96 acres; includes an 85 foot tall marble obelisk monument to the Battle of Tippecanoe, the Tippecanoe Battlefield Museum offering exhibits and gift shop (admission charged), Wah-ba-shik-a Nature Center (see Nature Learning), a historic chapel, Pioneer Cemetery, picnic areas, restrooms and Burnett Creek access. Tippecanoe County Amphitheater

166 acres; featuring an 1,511 seat amphitheater available to rent for plays, concerts, church services and corporate events. Open turf grass areas, soccer fields and hiking/biking trail available.

Wildcat Park

53 acres; confluence of north and south forks of the Wildcat Creek, shelter house, access for canoeing, picnic areas, nature observation, restrooms, grills and a handicap accessible fishing pier.
