Civic Theatre has called the Historic Monon Depot Theatre home for over 30 years. Hundreds of volunteers work hard to present a variety of MainStage productions, musicals, comedies, dramas and classics. Civic Theatre offers an extensive theatre education program including summer camps, classes and workshops. Enjoy large scale summer shows, holiday shows and an exciting series of staged readings.
Performs classical ballets throughout the year, including an annual version of the ever-popular Nutcracker. Lafayette Ballet Company was formed in 1989. Professional training through Lafayette Ballet School (begun in 1988), professional guest artists and teachers, professional costumes and sets and careful details of production help to enhance the quality of all LBC endeavors. The Ballroom at 226 N. 6th Street, the Murdock Building is an inspiring atmosphere in which to nurture the traditions of ballet.
The City of Lafayette was founded in 1825, and 17 years later, in 1842, the Tippecanoe Journal and Free-Press reported the organization of the "Lafayette Band", noting in its July 7, 1842 edition, that it had been "only a few months in training, but from its performance on the 4th, a stranger might have been led to presume it had been organized for years." The Lafayette Citizens Band provides the community with free public concerts throughout the summer at Riehle Plaza in downtown Lafayette from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and every Thursday evening in between.
Lafayette Master Chorale’s Adult, Children and Youth Choirs provide a series of six to seven concerts a year. Performances are presented at various venues throughout the community. Children’s summer programs are also available in June.
Brings outstanding symphonic music and artistic excellence through performances and educational outreach to the community. The LSO makes its home in the grand setting of the Long Center for the Performing Arts.
Offers a year-round range of performances by its concert and jazz bands, Symphony Orchestra and American
Music Repertory Ensemble. Its famed “All-American” Marching Band and pep bands add a musical flair to Purdue athletic events.

Initiated in 1902, Purdue Convocations is among the oldest collegiate performing arts presenters in the United States. Each year, Convocations offers the region 30--40 performances of widely varying genres: Broadway-style shows, theatre, dance, children's theatre, world music, jazz, and chamber music, along with rock, pop, country, and comedy attractions. With a vision for connecting artists and audiences in artistic dialogue and for drawing in academic discourse, Purdue Convocations aims to promote frequent exposure to and familiarity with human cultural expression in a multitude of forms and media.
The Division of Dance in the Rueff School of Visual and Performing Arts offers courses in modern, ballet, jazz dance, world dance, movement fundamentals, dance appreciation, improvisation, composition, choreography, and dance performance.
